Nyungwe National Park fees at a glance
The Nyungwe National Park fees have two parts. Park entry is charged per person and depends on the number of nights. On top of that, each special activity such as the canopy walk or chimpanzee trekking has its own price, with a guide included. The amounts below follow the 2025 to 2026 tariff and are per person.
Prices differ by visitor category: international visitors, international residents of Rwanda or the East African Community (EAC), African citizens outside the EAC, and Rwanda and EAC citizens. Check the current amount before you book. Tour listings show whether park fees are included.

Park entry by number of nights
Per person, 2025 to 2026 tariff.
| Visitor category | 1 night | 2 nights | 3 nights |
|---|---|---|---|
| International adults | $100 | $150 | $200 |
| International children, 6 to 12 | $50 | $75 | $100 |
| Residents of Rwanda or the EAC, adults | $60 | $90 | $120 |
| Residents of Rwanda or the EAC, children 6 to 12 | $30 | $45 | $60 |
| African citizens or residents outside the EAC, adults | $60 | $90 | $120 |
| African citizens or residents outside the EAC, children 6 to 12 | $30 | $45 | $60 |
| Rwanda and EAC citizens, adults | RWF 10,000 | RWF 15,000 | RWF 20,000 |
| Rwanda and EAC citizens, children 6 to 12 | RWF 5,000 | RWF 7,500 | RWF 10,000 |
Children up to 5 enter free, and from 13 years the adult rate applies. A second and third night add a smaller step, and the table ends at three nights, so ask the park how a longer stay is charged. Visitors who sleep outside the park pay for each day they visit, except guests of partner accommodation. Do not work out a multi-visit price on your own.

How to pay and how to book
Payment is cashless.
The park does not take cash. You can pay by card, by online payment, by mobile money or by bank transfer. If you pay by transfer, the park asks for the proof of payment before you arrive, and transaction costs are extra. Bookings go through the park's own booking page and its reservation office, and the Rwanda Development Board has a separate permit platform. You are not required to use a private tour operator. A tour package is another option, and its card shows what is included.
